The Taiping War Cemetery
(Perkuburan Peperangan Taiping)

The Taiping War Cemetery is located on Jalan Bukit Larut. It is maintained by the Commonwealth War Graves Commission. HRH Prince Charles visited the Cemetery in November 2017 which emphasises the significance and importance of the site as a war   historical site. The graves are located in two (2) plots of land separated by a road. One plot contains the graves of those of the  Muslim faith while the other plot is for Christians and others. The Commonwealth War Graves Commission has listed the names of 331 casualties buried in the Cemetery. One of the notable grave in the Cemetery belongs to Squadron Leader Arthur Stewart King Scarf,  VC of the British Royal Air Force. Squadron Leader Scarf was awarded a Victoria Cross (VC) posthumously for his heroic act in  Singora during WWII.
